Mark Teply is Senior Ecosystems Analyst with Cramer Fish Sciences.  Over his career, Mark has become proficient in numerous off-the-shelf statistical packages and has found a home with R.  An experienced trainer, he will help you become confident in your use of R to visualize and analyze your environmental monitoring data.  Mark has over 25 years as a quantitative ecologist specializing in using advanced statistical methods to evaluate the effects of land management on terrestrial and aquatic resources.  He truly enjoys and has made a career out of finding and communicating patterns in data that offer insights that affect management and decision-making.  He has worked with data sets that cover all trophic levels and all environmental media. 

At Cramer Fish Sciences, Mark's focus is on analysis and modeling of ecosystems to help stakeholders understand the influence that management activities can have on salmon and trout.  Mark's project work addresses a range of land management practices including timber and range management, mining operations, water projects, oil and gas, agriculture, and habitat restoration.  He does this for a diverse clientele of private, government, and non-governmental organizations and provides consulting, software, and training solutions throughout the western United States. 

Mark received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in forestry and natural resource management from the University of Michigan and University of California at Berkeley.
