Description:

** This is an ONLINE course, which can be accessed any time, regardless of date, sign in from any computer from anywhere. HIGH-SPEED internet is required. You can pause/restart the course. This course is required to be completed within 14 days of activation. If additional time is needed, contact us. After registering for the course, we will manually enter you into our learning management software within 2 days of registering and you will receive an email from NWETC and Adobe Captivate Prime with further instructions of how to access the course. You must have reliable internet access to complete this online training. 

This course recertifies you for 3-years for Construction Stormwater Certification valid in both Washington (CESCL) and Oregon (1200C).

* NOTE: In order to be eligible for this Online Recertification course, you MUST complete re-certification training within 6 months after the expiration date printed on your current CESCL card. If your card expired more than 6 months ago, you will need to take a full 2-day live CESCL course. 

This online recertification is valid to recertify in Washington and Oregon. Students who complete the course will receive a Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL) card within 10 days of completing the course. This card will serve as proof of your recertification, and is good for three years. CESCL certification is required in the states of Washington and Oregon for personnel responsible for construction stormwater inspections and sampling at construction sites.  The course covers the essentials of being a certified lead and includes information on how new regulations will impact CESCL job functions. Upon completion, students will know how to simply and confidently comply with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements of stormwater management.

Note: This online recertification is valid to recertify in Washington and Oregon. This CESCL certification course is recognized as meeting the training and certification requirements of the General Permit, and BMP C160 Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL) in Washington State Department of Ecology’s stormwater management manuals for Eastern and Western Washington. The Construction Stormwater General Permit requires that site inspections be conducted by a CESCL.

Contractors, agencies and municipalities, engineers, consultants and anyone who desires to receive a CECSL re-certification with the Washington State Department of Ecology.

About the Instructor

James Workman

James Workman

James has over 20 years of successful CEO and leadership experience in the education, business, and consulting fields. The majority of his time has been spent in the non-profit sector. His career has been distributed between various international and stateside locations. The international experiences were in challenging locations including Eastern Europe, South-East Asia, and Western Africa. As a CEO internationally, James used a wide variety of skill sets to address difficult and unpredictable environments, and created an extensive international network across many continents. James' passion is for developing people, organizations, and businesses. His formal education includes a BA in History and Education and a MA in Educational Leadership from Pacific Lutheran University. His Ph.D. work (Candidate in Philosophy achieved Univ. of WA) was in the area of Business Administration, Advanced Leadership Sequence, and Technology Integration. James holds three professional certificates as a Teacher, Principal, and Superintendent. Additionally, he spent six years in a leadership capacity of Project Leadership in the State of Washington. James' combination of experience and passion for developing people serves him well in leading and developing organizations.

Billing Information

In order to guarantee a space in a course, the tuition must be paid in full TWO WEEKS before the first day of the course by either check or credit card. State and government agencies paying with a purchase order are allowed payment under the two-week time frame if a copy of the purchase order is received by NWETC.

  • With 30-8 days notice, we will offer a course credit towards a future course. The credit is good for one year and may be applied to any course.
  • With fewer than 8 days notice, there is no course credit available
