The title of this post, "Don't Be Stubborn", was the advice that President Obama gave to an activist who confronted him about his support for research into alternative energy sources. That seems like good advice, since environmental policy is complicated, and there are several valid points of view regarding what course of action is best for the long term health of the planet.

Though research into alternative energy sources is important, the reality is, we are still many years from being able to eliminate coal as the primary source.
