This Months MSNA Work Party

We had a great turn out at our monthly work party on March 5th. We had several returning volunteers as well as new faces and neighborhood residence who wanted to join us in the restoration of this beautiful natural area.

This early spring we have been pushing new trails further into Maple School Natural Area, hitting some of the densest invasive patches on the site.

This months work party also happened to fall on National Invasive Species Awareness Week. It was an important week for educating people about invasive species and how they spread. Check out this article, written by our own Calvin Allan, about what Seattle is doing about invasive species. Everyone can play a role in the spread of invasive species. Our friends at Seattle Tilth have a great article full of resources for avoiding planting invasive species in your home garden.

Thank you to all of our great volunteers who came out Saturday and helped us restore MSNA!
