Wyoming Based Clean Coal Task Force Supports CCS Research

The University of Wyoming reports that in addition to the $31.2 million that the Clean Coal Task Force has distributed, they have also raised and distributed $35.1 million in matching funds. The money has gone to fund research into several different types of research projects, including carbon capture and sequestration, gasification technology, post-combustion methods, gas clean-up and coal-to-liquids conversion.

Carbon Tech Alliance member PNNL was awarded $2.4 Million (including matching funds from the US Department of Energy) for projects related to gasification gas clean-up, carbon capture and coal-to-natural gas technologies.
