**This course will be presented online as a live webinar in three 2-hour sessions. Sessions will be recorded and will be available to all enrolled attendees. **

All classes will be from 10 a.m.-noon Pacific (11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mountain) (noon to 2 p.m. Central) and (1-3 p.m. Eastern).

This six-hour webinar builds on concepts introduced in Course 1: Lean and Six Sigma for Environmental Professionals: Introduction to Process Improvement.

In these sessions, details about the most common process improvement tools and techniques will be reviewed. Specific techniques include: 5S, process mapping, kanban, standard work, the 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, histograms, common vs. special cause variation, error proofing, control charts, measurement studies, and more.

After completing this course, attendees will be able to begin to evaluate which tools may be right to help their organization improve processes and increase efficiency and sustainability.

About the Instructor

Brion Hurley

Brion Hurley is a Principal Lean Consultant at Rockwell Collins in Wilsonville, OR. He is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) from the American Society for Quality (ASQ), and Lean Master certified. He has a bachelor’s degree in Statistics, and a master’s degree in Quality Management and Productivity from the University of Iowa. He obtained a Certificate of Sustainability from the University of Iowa.

He has a Certificate of Sustainability from the University of Iowa, and has achieved Zero Waste Business Associate, SME Green Manufacturing Specialist, and Senior Certified Sustainability Professional certifications. He recently led the Rockwell Collins Wilsonville facility to the Leaders in Sustainability Gold Level certification from Clackamas County (Oregon).

Billing Information

In order to guarantee a space in a course, the tuition must be paid in full TWO WEEKS before the first day of the course by either check or credit card. State and government agencies paying with a purchase order are allowed payment under the two-week time frame if a copy of the purchase order is received by NWETC.
