Attendees of NWETC’s Industrial stormwater management workshop will be guided through all the requirements of the Washington and Oregon permits, and will learn techniques and practices to address the challenges of industrial stormwater management. Attendees will learn:

  • Overview of the industrial permits in WA and OR 
  • Getting reliable data through sampling 
  • Best Management Practices

Intended Audience:

 

The intended audience is field personnel and managers from businesses and municipalities who implement and oversee the Washington and Oregon permits. This workshop is appropriate for attendees who are new to the field as well as seasoned experts.

Topics discussed include SWPCP development, sampling, monitoring, reporting and key strategies to achieve compliance. At the conclusion of the workshop, attendees will have an understanding not only of permit requirements, but also techniques for improved site management.

About the Instructor

Ayn Generes

Ayn Generes

Ms. Ayn Generes, PE, CPSWQ has 15 years’ experience as a professional civil engineer specializing in stormwater management and water quality. Her areas of expertise include design and implementation of innovative stormwater treatment systems, including advanced treatment systems (ATS). Ayn developed a stormwater plug flow separation system and holds the patent on the design. She brings considerable experience working directly with industrial facilities to successfully reduce contaminates in stormwater runoff and ensure NDPES permit compliance, including developing and implementing Best Management Practices (BMPs), SWPPPs, permit compliance reports, and stormwater management reports. Ayn leads SoundEarth’s Oregon stormwater training program, teaching various environmental and stormwater related classes including Industrial Stormwater Management Workshops

What to Bring

Please bring a pen or pencil, and notepad if you would like to take notes (you may also choose to take notes in your book). Lunch will be on your own, but drinks and snacks will be provided throughout the day.

Billing Information

In order to guarantee a space in a course, the tuition must be paid in full TWO WEEKS before the first day of the course by either check or credit card. State and government agencies paying with a purchase order are allowed payment under the two-week time frame if a copy of the purchase order is received by NWETC.
