You are invited to a free workshop presented by the
Pacific Northwest Regional Water Program, hosted by the Northwest Environmental Training Center
All attendees must register through our registration system, space is limited to 40 people.
Watershed Grant groups to be highlighted in this workshop:
Clark Fork – Pend Oreille – Western Montana, Northern Idaho, Northeast Washington.
A watershed impacted by nutrient loading from out-dated grazing,
logging, mining, and dairy management practices that resulted in
diminished Western Cutthroat Trout populations and algae blooms in
waterways. Attend the workshop to learn how this far-flung watershed
came together to form partnerships that gleaned the grant award.
Siuslaw River – Central Oregon Coast
Ditching, diking, and drainage of riverine environment and unwise
logging practices have impacted water quality and traditionally large
salmon and eel spawning ecology. Attend the workshop to hear local
residents speak of the partnerships formed to address the watershed
problems and application for the grant.
Skagit River Partnership – Northwestern Washington
The farmers and Tribal fisherman in the largest estuary in the
Puget Sound are working together to restore salmon populations, retain
valuable farm acreage infrastructure, and insure a sustainable future
for their watershed. Attend the workshop and learn the ways these
diverse cultures work in partnership for the future.
